We've recently learnt that Matias and his family have moved away.
Sadly, none of the local churches in the family's new community run a Compassion project which means he has now left our programme.
Although this may be disheartening, the family's move may indicate that their circumstances have improved. For example, a caregiver or parent may have found work and is therefore in a better position to care for Matias.
Thank you for sending a farewell letter to Matias
Take a moment to look back through the photos and celebrate the difference you've made.
Your letters have made a huge difference in Matias's life - thank you! Your letters will be something he will continue to treasure as he re-reads your words of love and encouragement. Take a moment to look back over your letters in your myCompassion account.

Some of the questions you may have
Unfortunately, now that the child you sponsor has left the Compassion programme we no longer have contact with them or their family. We apologise for the disappointment this may bring but it is not possible for us to facilitate you staying in touch.

It’s hard when a family moves away but be reassured, if at all possible the team from their project will have met with the family a number of times and talked through their decision to move. Parent often move for reasons of work and to provide better opportunities for their children. Sadly however, as there is no Compassion project in their new community it’s not possible for you to continue supporting them.
